 Teaching Philosophy

Culture is a tangible manifestation of the love for the beautiful and the ugly in the world. It is expressed through art, dance, music, and architecture, among many other things that create. Languages often share the same concepts with others but have different nuances in their meanings and connotations. It is a profound way to expand empathy, explore new cultures, and discover fresh perspectives.

Music is as vast and vibrant as the world itself. It transcends borders, cultures, and perspectives, carrying admiration and love for the beauty of life. All without necessarily needing words to share an experience. It is a skill and tool of self-expression that can teach people of all ages how to work diligently with a positive conviction.

I am committed to helping my students play with ease, knowing that relaxation enhances both their enjoyment and their ability. I invite curiosity, creativity, and passion, which fuel progress and deepens connection. My teaching approach is holistic—combining technique, theory, and aural skills with composition, sight-reading, and artistic refinement from the very beginning.

I strive to foster this in all of my students so that they may attain musical independence and see the world in its full spectrum. Just as culture reflects both the beautiful and the imperfect, music holds every shade of human experience—light and dark, vibrant and muted. When life feels colorless, music has the power to restore its depth and brilliance. I have seen the life-changing results of perseverance in piano study, not just in skill but in the way it shapes perspective, resilience, and appreciation for the richness of life.
